Volunteer Interest Form here

Volunteers are a vital part of the ministry of Hope Harbor, bringing interests and talents from all walks of life.  Some come occasionally, some weekly, and some more. Our volunteers have a commitment to further God's Kingdom and show the love of Christ to this generation.  Volunteers support the work of this ministry in many ways:

Direct Care

Your time and attention allows the girls to practice their social skills and build positive new relationships under the guidance of staff; direct care volunteer opportunities include:

  • Prepare noon lunch once a week with a resident
  • Decorate and bake with residents for holidays
  • Plan a craft, game night, or other activity with the girls
  • Teach music lessons, and/or lead worship at Chapel
  • Teach the girls a skill or talent you enjoy
  • Tutor in school (especially English, math, and science)
  • "Adopt” our girls through your Women's Group by coming once a month for coffee and fellowship
  • Bond with the girls by planning a Spa Night with them
  • Invite the girls and staff to your home for a movie night, bon fire, dinner, swim, fellowship, baking, holiday party, or other
  • Visit us to play games, rake leaves, have water balloon fights, or play basketball
  • Prepare a lesson or share your testimony at Thursday Chapel

Indirect Service

Work conducted behind the scenes provides important support to the administration of our ministry, so we can keep doing what we are called to do; opportunities include:

  • Help in the office with clerical responsibilities
  • Plan nutritious menus each month
  • Prepare meals for our freezer
  • Schedule your group to do property work, especially at season changes
  • Manage our vegetable garden
  • Complete house maintenance work
  • Promote/plan ministry events and public relations
  • Become a Prayer Warrior, on-site or in your own home during our Intercessory Prayer Time each Thursday and subscribing to our Prayer Update List via email
  • Schedule a presentation for your organization or church
  • Plan a food/goods drive at your church or group

These are just some of many ways volunteers bless our ministry. If you have been considering volunteer work, please pray about how the Lord would have you use your giftings from Him to further His work.    Fill out a Volunteer Form  today and become part of the Kingdom Work at Hope Harbor!

Never underestimate the impact of giving of your time, talents, and energy!
